KS1 Phonics And Reading
Pupils at KS1 are taught phonics and reading using the following schemes:
Each Pod undertakes approximately ten sessions of Forest School Education per year. The outdoor site used for these lessons is in Yorkswood, which is roughly two miles from the Centre.
Activities include: shelter building, fire building and lighting, cooking, wood cutting, group games and identifying flora and fauna.
The pupils enjoy this opportunity to take learning beyond the classroom and look forward to developing new skills. Forest School helps to improve their confidence, self-esteem and social skills.
All equipment and waterproof clothing is provided by the Centre.
